Our Ferragudo
Ferragudo, is a small but impressive, still largely original place on one of the most fascinating coasts in western Europe, the Algarve.
It lies on the eastern estuary of the Rio Arade and is one of the most tranquil villages in Portugal. [Nbsp] In the small harbor, the boats are dry on low tide. The clear water shimmers green and blue. [Nbsp] Narrow, picturesque winding streets give you an impression of the Portuguese mentality. [Nbsp]
The women wash their laundry in front of whitewashed houses. The fishermen mend their nets. At lunchtime, sardines are grilled in front of the humble houses.
Particularly worth seeing are the small church in the upper area of the village and the castle complex below. [Nbsp] Enjoy a wide view of the harbor entrance from there small streets.
Ferragudo offers something for vacationers not only during the day. Especially the evening hours and the nights can be very long here. It is not uncommon for you to sit comfortably on a balcony, in the garden or on a terrace and enjoy a delicious Portuguese wine. So you can spend the nights and evenings in a good mood and relaxed.
The main (former market) square in Ferragudo is the meeting point for locals and guests.
The place impresses with a variety of romantic alleys and squares. Here you will find cozy pubs, cafes, the bakery, the newspaper shop and many other shops, a large number of good and inexpensive restaurants. [Nbsp] The tranquil market place blends in with the town center. Here you can chat with locals or other guests over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. [Nbsp] Small celebrations and events take place regularly every weekend in summer. Ferragudo offers something for everyone, whether for young or old, whether for groups, families or singles.
Church and harbour
Particularly worth seeing are the small church in the upper area of the village and the castle below. [Nbsp] Enjoy a wide view over the harbour entrance towards the river ARADE.

Day to day live in Ferragudo
Most of the shopping is still done in “corner shops”. Fresh fish and fruit are offered in the small market hall. [Nbsp] You will notice that in Ferragudo you automatically switch down a notch and that your vacation will be even more relaxed. The residents are always friendly and helpful.
A stroll through the streets in the evening or at night can be very romantic and relaxing.
